Happy Holidays from The Adventure Guild!

Here we are at the end of 2024, a little after a year of our opening day, and I’m finally creating our first blog post. As we draw 2024 to a close, I just want to take some time to share ways we have grown. When we first opened, we focused primarily on board games and role playing games. However, today we are much more than a game shop!

Some of our great variety of trading card and board games!

First of all, our board game selection has grown signficantly. From classics like Monopoly to modern, heavy games like Twilight Imperium, we have a game for anyone who is looking to bring one home. In addition to board games, we now sell Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, Lorcana, Altered, One Piece, Attack on Titan, and Star Wars Unlimited trading card games. We have Dungeons & Dragons role playing game, but we also have others, like Arkham Horror, Old Gods of Appalachia, Candela Obscura, Shadowrun, and Cypher System role playing games. For hobbyists, we also carry miniature paints, miniatures, and other accessories for miniature painters. And most recently, we began carrying some crystal art buddies and notebooks and increased our variety of puzzles.

This beautiful Medusa was painted by Jason! He’ll be running paint clinics, so keep an eye out!

Another way we have grown recently is our beer/wine license! Yep, you read that correctly! You can now purchase an adult beverage to enjoy while playing games using our Game Cafe, which has also grown in variety as well! We consistently add games we think customers will enjoy as adults and as kids and families.

Finally, we know that many of our customers travel far and wide to come to beautiful Tucker County, WV and that traveling with children can mean that parents have very little time to themselves. So, we have begun offering camps during holiday breaks, like our Winter D&D Camps during this winter break!
